When we left for the mission field we didn’t have kids. So when they came along I was suddenly faced with the fact that my husband and I chose this weird life but our girls were along for the ride. The first example I remember was visiting a Hindu temple in town. I had been there before but this time I had a 3 month old attached to me in a front carrier. I walked up to the structure with my husband and a visitor staying with us but there seemed to be an invisible barrier. I stepped back, then walked forward again, only to feel a barrier again keeping me from going forward. I realized the Holy Spirit didn’t want me to take our sweet baby any nearer to this place. I walked back to our car, looking at the gardens along the way, and thanking God that even when I didn’t fully understand or even realize it was needed that He would protect our girls. He had called us to this life and He would be faithful!
