A year ago I asked God, “Why don’t I have rest? You promise rest!” I heard the clear answer in my head: “You don’t have rest because you keep trying to do My job.” Wow! Not what I wanted to hear, but it is the truth. My favorite verse has been Psalm 46:10 since high school. In the NIV it says “He says, ‘Be still, and know that I am God; I will be exalted among the nations, I will be exalted in the earth.’” I will be trying to master this verse for the rest of my life, and I am getting a little better at recognizing when I try to add things to my easy yoke. My family bought me this embroidery kit for Mother’s Day, and I have it in my living room to remind me. What is God teaching you? What is your life verse?
