I have been preparing for my first speaker/writer conference. Part of what they recommend is building a platform, something I enjoy much less than writing. I was stressing about this while working on a story during my daughter’s karate class. Her Sensei is very strict and we are supposed to be quiet but the dad next to me kept asking questions about what I was doing. I finally asked him if he wanted to read a story and handed him my favorite. He was quiet! He handed it back to me, a story about spiritual warfare we faced in Indonesia. All he asked was, “Did that really happen?” and he was quiet the rest of the class. I have no idea where he is at spiritually and I hope God uses my experience to encourage him. What God taught me that day is that He will use my adventures for His plan and I don’t need to lose sleep over my platform, or lack thereof. I need to be faithful with my part and then let God work.
