This is one of my favorite photos. I actually managed to capture joy. Why do we love photos so much? I think we are trying to hold onto the joy of a moment. But seeing a picture only brings back a small piece of the original joy. How do we have permanent joy? John 15:9-11 tells us how to complete our joy. “As the Father has loved me, so have I loved you. Now remain in my love. If you keep my commands, you will remain in my love, just as I have kept my Father’s commands and remain in his love. I have told you this so that my joy may be in you and that your joy may be complete.” God is the fullness of our joy, all the time. God is not a dictator but His law simply tells us, as The Jesus Storybook Bible says, how life works best. A part of obedience is sharing our stories of God’s faithfulness with those around us.
