One of my favorite pictures from our time in Indonesia is of a diaper that my resourceful husband used to secure a broken rearview mirror when we took a trip out of town so that the mirror didn’t break or scratch up the car. We had taken a trip to the village of one of our MAF coworkers and on the drive back a car sideswiped us and knocked the rearview mirror loose but not off. We pulled over and I started to stress, wondering how we could secure it, but my problem-solving husband calmly grabbed a diaper out of my bag and wrapped the mirror securely in it, fastening it with the diaper tabs. It was now cushioned and secure. This adventure helped me learn to take a step back and see what I have onhand to solve problems. In Acts 17, Paul is the master of resourcefulness, finding a way to show the people of Athens that they knew they were missing something in their lives, and that Christ was what they were missing. Joshua chapter 2 also shows some wild resourcefulness, with Rahab rescuing the Israelite spies, then the Israelites rescuing Rahab and her family. What ways have you used resourcefulness or watched someone else solve a problem creatively?
