Our creativity comes from God, and when we distance ourselves from Him or actively fight against Him, of course we don’t have creativity. I love how my best ideas come after spending time with Him, in prayer and in His Word. God is the Potter, smoothing our natural bents and gifts into something usable. I rediscovered John 16:33 the other day: “I have told you these things, so that in me you may have peace. In this world you will have trouble. But take heart! I have overcome the world.” Then I remembered these hearts I cut out years ago and decided to make ‘take heart’ hearts to give to my VBS group if they want them. Nothing museum worthy, but hopefully it will remind these kids, and me, of what is true. What are you and God creating together?
