I think mine would currently say “emergency contact.” My daughters attend two different public schools and are old enough to go places with friends and to be dropped off, and my husband doesn’t have a safe job. So I am almost always at least a little bit on call.

The Bible reminds me of what my name tag should say in 1 Peter 2:9: “But you are a chosen people, a royal priesthood, a holy nation, God’s special possession, that you may declare the praises of him who called you out of darkness into his wonderful light.”

I am the emergency contact for my daughters and husband, but I am also a daughter of the King, a princess whose job is to praise God while walking in His light, no matter my circumstances or season of life.

Dear Lord, thank You for calling us to something higher than any titles we might hold in this world. Help us to walk in the light as Your daughters, continuously praising You!
