I find when I am busiest, I turn to comfort books. Anybody else? When I am particularly stressed, I reread Little Women, needing some of Marmee’s wisdom. Right now I am continuing to read John Piper’s Joy to the World, Daily Readings for Advent, and it is such a wonderful mix of encouragement and challenge. I just finished Sarah’s Song by Karen Kingsbury, a wonderful short Christmas story, and I am currently reading The Christmas Shoppe by Melody Carlson, which has me intrigued. This has also been a nice quick read so far. What are you reading? What do you like to reread and why? And when is Good Reads going to add a reread button? Happy reading!

There is a unique beauty in reopening the pages of a familiar book, much like visiting an old friend amidst the hustle and bustle of daily life. Your choice of Advent readings feels incredibly soul-soothing, a gentle reminder to stay anchored in true joy during this busy season. Thank you for sharing this cozy corner of your bedside table; it is truly heartening to know that rereading is more than just a hobby—it is a sanctuary for the soul to find rest.
