My freshman daughter has been giving me all of my book recommendations lately, starting with rereading Animal Farm, and now Gone to the Woods: Surviving a Lost Childhood by Gary Paulsen. Animal Farm is a classic and everyone should read it once. I loved Gary Paulsen’s books as a kid, realistic nature stories. This particular book is his memoir and, to avoid spoilers, is not boring in any way. I love that both of my daughters are readers and that we can now share shoes and books. I just started a great book for when you are stressed, P.G. Wodehouse’s Service with a Smile. Any of his Ask Jeeves books are great comfort reading. I haven’t read his other series, but I imagine they are also hilarious. What are you reading? Who gives you the best book recommendations?
