I am moving along on my English paper piecing pillow, trying to keep warm in northern Indiana! I took out the basting stitches and the papers, and have begun to quilt the top to a piece of quilt batting. I chose to quilt ‘in the ditch,’ following the seams that hold all of the pieces together, mostly because I don’t know how to do any patterns yet. I chose a bright color thread instead of white, and decided to do a backstitch so there is no gap between the stitches. Hopefully it will make for a cheery pillow. I am almost done with the large triangle border, then will move inward.

What do you think? What are you making? Is it cold where you are?

Subfreezing temps, but the snow has stopped and the sun is peaking out. Unfortunately the temps will remain low so I think we are looking at a lot of black ice. Churches were cancelled today.

So sorry! We had church but it has been snowing steadily again for 2 hours. What a winter!
