I’m fairly certain God uses the weather to remind us that we are not in control. My youngest daughter is learning this lesson, having to rearrange birthday plans. My other daughter is like me and wants to know exactly what is going to happen each day, so we both struggle with just not knowing whether the next thing on the calendar can happen or not.
I don’t realize how much I like to know what the future holds until the weather makes everything uncertain.
I think God also uses the weather to make us rest, whether we want to or not. No amount of striving or planning can change the weather.
God also uses the weather to create more family time. We have enjoyed several Mario Kart tournaments and binge watching our current sitcom of choice. There will probably be a monopoly game today since my law enforcement hubby is off.
What does the weather teach you? What are other ways God teaches us that we are not in control?
James 4:14-15 NIV
[14] Why, you do not even know what will happen tomorrow. What is your life? You are a mist that appears for a little while and then vanishes. [15] Instead, you ought to say, “If it is the Lord’s will, we will live and do this or that.”
