I am feeling better after two weeks of spending my down time sleeping and getting back to quilting my English paper piecing pillow.

I also finally started a project I have been planning for a while, making a new quilt for my and my husband’s bed. I have decided to keep it simple with a nine patch design, and to make half the squares gray. If it was just mine, I would make every square a different color, but I also understand it should be soothing!

I will need 810 squares at 3 1/2″, so this will probably take a few years at a leisurely pace. This is what I have so far.

I’m spending today watching my daughter play her violin, enjoying her artistic skills. What have you been making? Do you have any advice for my first attempt at a full size quilt?

My advice–get a boatload of sisters like my mother-in-law–you’ll get done faster, make lots of quilts, and have fun gabbing each week. (I am not a quilter, but I love them.😉)
