Hi all! What are you reading? I just finished One Hundred Years of Solitude by Gabriel Marquez, a native of Colombia. It was an interesting book, partly a realistic tale of several generations of a family, partly folklore.
Next in my literary travel is Turkey, with There are Rivers in the Sky by Elif Shafak. Google’s synopsis is this: “connects three characters across time and geography through the Tigris and Thames rivers, exploring themes of memory, history, exile, and resilience, all linked by a single drop of water and the ancient Epic of Gilgamesh.”
I am just getting into it, too soon to have an opinion! Where should I go next in my Around the World in 80 Books?
