I have spent this week thinking about all of the monumental meetings that have happened in our little dining room. When my husband started his law enforcement career, we had a home meeting, where everything from our motivation to our finances was discussed.

When we began our foster care parent adventure, Linda sat at our dining room table with a giant mound of paper work, patiently answering our questions in-between her own.

And now we will be meeting with our daughter’s Air Force mentor over dessert and coffee in this same dining room.

So much life starting in our dining room,  ready or not. Of course we’re never ready for these sort of life-changing adventures, and that gives us a chance of staying humble, with the Holy Spirit’s help. But we take the first step anyway, out of  obedience and faith, permanently altering the trajectory of our family story yet again.

What adventures have you stepped out in faith to take? What is God calling you to next?

Lamentations 3:22-26 NIV
[22] Because of the Lord’s great love we are not consumed, for his compassions never fail. [23] They are new every morning; great is your faithfulness. [24] I say to myself, “The Lord is my portion; therefore I will wait for him.” [25] The Lord is good to those whose hope is in him, to the one who seeks him; [26] it is good to wait quietly for the salvation of the Lord.
