I am on my 4th book of Around the world in 80 books. I most recently read The Stranger by Albert Camus, from Algeria. It was an interesting book because of the unique writing style and the main character, but definitely read a bit like a book assigned in a literature class, a little more symbolism than I pick when left to my own devices. It was short, just over 100 pages, and was worth the read.

I just started Subterranean by James Rollins from Antarctica. It is a little outside my preferred genres, more of a thriller, but 150 pages in I definitely need to know what happens to the characters in such a unique setting.

I would love any recommendations of authors from other countries, and would love to know what you are reading!

I am reading The Book of the Dun Cow with my book club. I am only half way through so I can’t really say much about it. The author says it is not an allegory, but several reviews online say it is. Hmm. Definitely a lot of symbolism.
