Hi all! I have been sick for about two weeks now so my reading slowed way down, but I am on an antibiotic and on the mend now. I am still on my quest of 80 books around the world, and finishing Cancer Ward by Russian author Aleksandr Solzhenitsyn, and learning lots of geography and history.

Next I will travel to Brazil with Gabriela, Clove and Cinnamon by Jorge Amado. It is set in the 1920s and I am excited to learn more about another part of our world.

What are reading? Do you have any international author recommendations for me?

If you are interested in Ireland and the Revolution there, I am currently reading Anna Lee Huber’s A Moment’s Shadow, part of the Verity Kent Mystery Series. Unfortunately, it is not really a standalone. This mystery doesn’t move from England to Ireland until the book before this one, and then I believe will continue on to the one after which has not yet been published. So, while an interesting trip to Ireland, I’m not really recommending it for your around the world tour.🙃

Thank you for the recommendation! I could count it as England and Ireland maybe!

I love the book, Pearl by Sian Hughes, a English writer, and the story is set in Cheshire, England. I found the book in a bookstore last year the day we buried my mother-in-law, Anne. She was a librarian, and I am positive that the book was her parting gift to me. There were so many connection that I knew God was telling me Anne was in good hands now.
