One of my soapboxes is daylight savings time. It is like going through jet lag without the fun of going anywhere, and we should stop the madness.
This saying is another one:
“God doesn’t give us more than we can handle.” It is a lie, and like all lies that catch on, it is based on truth that is simply twisted a little bit. The truth is that God always provides a way out of temptation, and not let us be tempted beyond what we can bear.
The truth is also that He always gives us more than we can handle on our own so that we have to depend on Him, and also on our Christian brothers and sisters. I have watched many amazing people bear up under impossible loads because they had learned to depend on God, to turn to Him for everything they needed for each moment.
What do you think? What is your soapbox?
1 Corinthians 10:13 NIV
[13] No temptation has overtaken you except what is common to mankind. And God is faithful; he will not let you be tempted beyond what you can bear. But when you are tempted, he will also provide a way out so that you can endure it.
