I am finishing Cutting for Stone, by Abraham Verghese, an Ethiopian author. It has been an intriguing 18th book in my 80 books around the world challenge. This challenge won’t take me quite 2 years at least!

My next stop will be In the Time of the Butterflies. According to Google, it “is a historical fiction novel by Julia Alvarez, published in 1994, that tells the story of the Mirabal sisters (Minerva, Patria, María Teresa, and Dede) and their resistance to the dictatorship of Rafael Trujillo in the Dominican Republic. Known as “Las Mariposas” (The Butterflies), three of the sisters were assassinated in 1960, and the novel uses their voices, including the survivor Dede, to recount their lives, from secret crushes and hair ribbons to gunrunning and political imprisonment, highlighting the human cost of oppression.”

It will be another adventure! What are you reading? Where should I travel next in my literary journey? Have you ever done a reading challenge?
