This time of year I get excited and want to plant and grow everything, completely forgetting that I have a black thumb and that I lose all my desire to garden by mid-July. Anybody else do this?

I am slowly learning to stay within my limited skill set and just enjoy the yards of my more talented friends.

I have learned that ministry is like this as well. I jump in and want to help fill all the holes, and then run out of steam about February each year.

So I am trying to remember to ask God what He is planting and what He is watering, and how I can get involved in a space or two well, instead of trying to do everything halfway.

What are you planting?

Psalms 86:11 NIV
Teach me your way, Lord, that I may rely on your faithfulness; give me an undivided heart, that I may fear your name.

I’m not very good at the gardening thing either 🫣 and when I see beautiful gardens, I’m reminded that God has given others gifts for us to enjoy
