I am still plugging along through A Suitable Boy. Google made me feel better when it said that this book is one of the longest single volume books in English!

My current devotional is Heart of God by Elisabeth Elliott. It is some writings of hers that were discovered after her death, and each of the 31 days includes several quotes from other wise people, which I also love.

When I am finished with that, I am going to start on “The Songs of Jesus: A Year of Daily Devotions in the Psalms” by Tim Keller and his wife Kathy. My husband’s aunt gave it to me for Mother’s Day, and it is perfect timing, as the church I attend just started a sermon series on the Psalms.

What are you reading? What is on your TBR list?

I just finished The Alchemist and the review is up on my blog. I gave a fair review for a general audience, but I’ll say outright to you, that I don’t think you would like it. There are some clearly Christian aspects–some quotes from the Bible/Jesus (not really attributed to Scriptures) and the story of the Centurion. Otherwise, the wisdom is truly a mixture of practical reasoning and New Age mumbo jumbo. The only interest you might have is that the character travels across North Africa.

My next read will be The Lion Women of Tehran. Both of these books have been on hold for me at the library and both came in at the same time.
