I am STILL working my way through A Suitable Boy, so I thought I would share a bookish adventure my oldest daughter had. She was attending a week long event at the Air Force Academy, where her belongings were checked to make sure she didn’t have anything that she shouldn’t.

She and I are over-packers, including books. She had  three, including two books from the Anne of Green Gables series. The woman checking her luggage is an English teacher, and she and my daughter were instantly friends over these timeless books.

I think L.M. Montgomery would love knowing that her books are still helping people find kindred spirits!

How have books helped you to discover kindred spirits? What are you reading? And if you haven’t read the whole Anne of Green Gables series, you should do it right now!

I love your story–books, kindred spirits says it all. When everything shut down during the “pandemic,” a group of ladies from my small church banded to form a group on Zoom for fellowship, prayer, and books. Two of us have moved, but our group is still connected. We read and discuss books, some Christian, some secular on a weekly basis. We are definitely kindred spirits.
