I recently took two very different trips; one to Colorado Springs, and one to Boston. In Colorado Springs, Pike’s Peak dominates and influences everything. The mountain is visible from everywhere, and it effects the climate, holds weather back or traps it, and gives identity to the whole area, as well as providing a livelihood for thousands through tourism.

Boston, on the other hand, is dominated by human history. We were amazed by how many larger than life buildings are still standing, serving their original purpose, like Old North Church, buildings older than my state of Indiana.

Every time we travel we marvel at God’s creation and the history of an area. It is always beautiful, wild, and the kind of stuff you can’t make up. It is amazing what is the same and what is different about humans and geography everywhere.

The wildest natural thing we saw was this pine tree with cactus growing under it. It is amazing that these two plants can thrive in the same place.

It was too hard to pick my favorite bit of history, although I love that Lexington Green is still a place where the community gathers, so here is the street sign that made us giggle the most.

What do you love most about traveling? What have you learned from traveling? Where is the wildest place you’ve ever visited? What is the funniest thing you ever saw while traveling?

Psalms 119:19 NIV I am a stranger on earth; do not hide your commands from me.
