I finished The Lion Women of Tehran, and loved it!

I am always amazed at the cyclical way that some relationships continue, like the two main characters in this book. It is sometimes wild to see who my husband and I reconnect with in unexpected ways, including both of us recently reconnecting with old friends vocationally.

What is the wildest reconnection you have made?

In my continuing 80 Books Around the World, I am currently reading The Wonder by Emma Donoghue, an Irish author. It is a story of a Nightingale nurse trying to ascertain if a little girl is a miracle or a fraud. It has me quite intrigued to find out!

What are you reading? What should I read next on my literary journey?

I haven’t started it yet, but my book club is reading George MacDonald’s The Fisherman’s Lady, also published as Malcolm. MacDonald was C.S. Lewis’ favorite author! It is a romance. The cheap version I got for my Kindle has dialogue written with a heavy Scottish brogue. I will be reading a version edited by Michael Phillips which is very available in print. From what I understand, it is more or less a translation.🤷‍♀️
