I have been having fun with little projects this week. My step mother-in-law’s birthday is July 5th and she loves Americana, so I made her a pillow just like the one I made for myself a few months ago. I also tried my hand at a ribbon pillow.

I was inspired by a creative woman at my church to create a Bible tassel. I used stuff I have been saving in my ribbon stash, including a ribbon from my childhood. The silver ribbon is the actual bookmark part. Super quick, easy and adorable! I followed this tutorial: https://pin.it/1waWeCLu4

I have also been working on a long-term project with my grandmother’s quilt, probably made in the ’50s. It has been very well loved and has batting coming out, so we are repurposing it. My oldest daughter wanted a butterfly, I wanted some Christmas ornaments, and still to come, my youngest wants a fabric paper chain to use as bunting. It seemed like a good week to honor my family’s heritage of quilt making. Do you have a family crafting heritage?
