I have spent this year so far reading, thinking and praying about courage. Then I read the book Untangle Your Emotions by Jennie Allen, specifically chapter 3, at the same time we started making college visits for my oldest daughter, who is working hard towards attending one of the military service academies.

These combined to make me want to pivot slightly from courage to “do not fear”. And since yesterday, July 6th, is exactly halfway through the year, this seems like the perfect time.

I am going to attempt a study of all the “do not fear”s in the Bible. Fear is not a sin, but giving into it and sitting in it instead of sitting with God is. This is what I’m hoping to remind myself of in this process.

My favorite quote so far is: “You are born with only two fears: fear of falling and fear of loud noise. All the rest is learned. And it’s a lot of work!” Richard Bandler

I am noticing some patterns already, with many “do not fear”s coming during actual battles, many spoken to women, many having to do with nature, and more.

What is your favorite “do not fear” passage? What has God taught you about fear?

I also recently learned about prayer Bibles, and created a tab in this Bible for each “do not fear” verse I have found so far.

I got this great idea from here: https://youtube.com/@thesisteritaclub7744?si=Ov7T_MsmjI_D0kAd

What is God teaching you?
