Psalms 77:18-20 NIV
[18] Your thunder was heard in the whirlwind, your lightning lit up the world; the earth trembled and quaked. [19] Your path led through the sea, your way through the mighty waters, though your footprints were not seen. [20] You led your people like a flock by the hand of Moses and Aaron.

        Yes, it is. I think the use of light and darkness is something that transcends cultures and language. Perhaps that is one reason God chose to speak to us through these symbols.

        I agree! Where we lived in Indonesia people who have electricity sleep with overhead lights on to keep evil spirits away. Human nature doesn’t change.
